Steep is proud of its own almshouses, which are locally  controlled, and which provide much needed homes in an area where property prices are very high. Steep is in the South Downs National Park, in an area of outstanding beauty.  Steep Almshouses are a member organisation of the national Almshouse Association, which provides support and advice.
